Soiree de Ballet 2018

What: Soiree de Ballet 2018

Where: Herberger Theater Stagewest

When: Saturday May 19th @ 7:00 p.m. & Sunday May 20th @ 2:30 p.m.

The Scottsdale Ballet Foundation is happy to sponsor the 9th season at the Herberger Theater for the annual “Soiree de Ballet 2018.”
The evening features the perennial favorite, “The Ballet Class,” where the audience gets a look into the training of a ballet student, from the beginning steps through the Advanced level. We always pride ourselves in presenting am original one-act ballet, which provides an opportunity for the entire school to work in am atmosphere as they would with an actual company. The 2nd offering of the evening is “The Seasons”, an original choreography set on the Scottsdale School of Ballet students by Donald and Sibylle Dadey. Set to the mellifluous score by Alexander Glazunov, you will find yourself whisked delightfully, through all 4 Seasons.

For the finale to this evening’s performance, we present our highlights from the 3rd Act of “Coppelia”, with variations set to the wonderful music of Leon Delibes, exquisitely restaged after one of the classical masters by Sibylle  Acatos-Dadey,  and with additional choreography by her, and director Donald Dadey. This ballet is a fun and enjoyable piece and a must see for all ages!

In addition to these wonderful ballets we are delighted to feature choreography from our wonderful faculty with Julia Chacon’s, Flamenco, and Joan Rodriguez-Hernandez, Contemporary Dance.

Robrt L. Pela of the Phoenix New Times wrote “Scottsdale School of Ballet, under the direction of big-deal dance mavens, Sibylle Acatos-Dadey and Donald Dadey, has gotten raves for it’s annual “An Evening of Ballet” spring performance at the Herberger.” Click on the link below to purchase your tickets today!
